LONNEKE DE GROOT

After her studies in philosophy and photographic theory, Lonneke de Groot realized that she could only make her ideas visible by making images herself. She completed a third study at the Rietveld Academy. The core of her work is the fascination for the spectator's perception, in experiencing the spatial illusion on the flat surface. She also reflects on her subject from a theoretical point of view. This results in an exciting interaction between concept and image. In her photographic still lifes, she is amazed at how we perceive and depict the world. She examines how we look at everyday spaces and objects. She regularly refers to existing images.
