Between 2005 and 2013 thi s floating detention center served as a prison for immigrants without official permit, asylumseekers who's request had been rejected and undocumented refugees. They all waited here for a possible detention, often without any form of process.

In 2014 thetwo ships are sold to an "profit for non-profit" organization to start a budget hotel. The revenues were intended for funding of a school in Guatamala.

Ironically, the second platform is purchased back by the government, now to house tha new refugees from Syria that arrived in the course of 2015.
